shooting star

A stylized representation of a shooting star, a small, fast-moving meteor that burns up in the atmosphere. Often depicted as a golden, five-pointed star trailing yellow motion lines across the night sky, as if moving to the left. Can be used for astronomical stars and other space-related content. Can also be used to indicate showing off or exuberance. Sometimes used as a visual reference to NBC's "You Know Better" public service announcement, which was popular in the 1990s and featured a shooting star logo.
